Johann Carsten Hauch

Romantic poet who took a particular interest in biology and comparative anatomy. In June of 1824 he came to Casamicciola, he hoped, unfortunately in vain, to find in the spa remedy a stubborn pain.
The beauty of Ischia in the four months spent on the island, had only seen the entire scene that offered him the house. Especially in the evening, when the sky burned to the west, impressed him deeply. So it was, that told only of life with its simple and honest housemates and the visits that were made from time to time by the neighbors.
