Werner Gilles
(Rheydt 1894-1961). German painter, who made many trips to Italy (Florence and Anacapri), France and Norway from 1936 to 1941 he lived in Italy (Ischia, Palinuro). In Ischia had his dwelling in Sant'Angelo, where he used to spend the summer months, particularly attracted by the places and the quiet and peaceful life. In his house gathered many other artists who had also chosen the island for their pleasant stay.
