The crib is an island
BY CIRO CENATIEMPO
“The crib is an island” is the title of a project that I carried out in 2008 for Pasquale Di Massa, master of exemplary craftsmanship, and the association of Amici del Presepe. Now intuition reincarnates for summarize the corpus of the latest 2019 issue of Ischia News,
already screened for spring 2020 – “Venti Venti” - which will be a party ... numerological and much more.
Thanks to the newspaper, we remain in tune with the creative work that raises an arc-en-ciel, a solid rainbow on which to rest the steps: they link the calendar and the seasons to the flow of the crib art, and to the awareness of communicating. Thus, a priceless sense of global experience is released. It is here that we have attacked the “post-its” of hopes, secular and new ideals that go beyond the geographical and chronological boundaries, assuming they are, of the Christmas event with its idealized outlines; and go beyond the limits of Ischitanity with its coastal, elusive, live and true underworld. We admire the warm and kaleidoscopic dioramas with miniature figures and landscapes that reinterpret true insularity: they give us back the ineffable substance of the island that is there. And then, next to it, here is the daily life that we transfigure, telling and loving it, between unveiling and electrocution, photographs “of the” time and “from the” time, in the intersection of metaphors, current events and the future, caves and comets, symbols and commitment to share, cultural. Our own.
