Those punches returned to the sender
I come from Forio, but it has been a couple of years that I’m living in a village in the province of Venice to work as office responsible for the national Post Office.
I have a wonderful family, my parents Adriana and Salvatore, and my sister Valeria: my first fans! What type of fans?: for nearly 10 years I have been cultivating my passion for combat sports; and now, specifically, I follow my only love, boxing. It all started when I was 17 and I set foot in a gym where they practiced Kickboxing, specialty in which you pull both fists and kicks. After about a year since my first training session I made my debut between the ropes at the Italian championships in Rimini: first match and first defeat to Ko.
Forio and his October between concerts and culture
Music creates ties and, often, shares the meaning and sense without knowing it. In its eighth edition, the activity of the cultural association “Ischia Musica”, with the patronage of the Campania Region and the municipality of Forio, resumes its consolidated vigor. In October 2017, from 15 to 22 pm, there will be alternating concerts and presentations to promote listening of the universal language, music, and reading. Forio will become a place in the “place” and, along with the opportunity to listen to the concerts on schedule, you can visit its ancient and characteristic churches - for example, that one of San Gaetano or the Arciconfraternita Visit Poveri -, or immerse yourself in the inexplicable but fascinating flow and sensitive notes and harmonic sounds.

A volume of two volumes tells, between memories and hundreds of images, about the strong ties with the island and its people: it is a very valuable contribution to the latest local history in the sign of a great passion.

As a very nice jaunty fox waiting to bite ripe grapes, Miriam Cianciarelli, photographed by Tommaso Monti, is the amused protagonist involved in this mini-reportage at the harvest time (which still continues in some parts of the island) between vineyards cultivated by her grandfather Vincenzo Regine, in Forio. Miriam explains, in details, her love for the land which, starting from far away, through the ancient experience, manages to engage hearts and minds of young people to renew the vitality of a miracle.
Sunday, October 16th: The race between landscapes and scents - Ischia Dream Run
It is one of the best running races in the South of Italy: Sunday, October 16 is going to be run Ischia Dream Run, second edition.
Just a year ago, after the success of the cycling Gran Fondo organized on the green island, even the running enthusiasts have had the chance to compete around the island ... with no cars.
Elve's food. Mushrooms, fairies and fantasies of autumn
Have you heard of the very secret research done in the woods of Ischia, not far from the groves of beans called bagpipers, including hardwood logs of oak and chestnut trees, even olive trees and the Ganoderma lucidum?
This is a non-edible mushroom quite rare for Ischia, although very well known for its medicinal and anti-inflammatory powers when reduced to powder tablets in China and Japan.
This mushroom associated to oak trees, trees of life, opens the doors for a digression which for me is relevant.
