Ischia Safari, the festival of the good Italian cuisine
ISCHIA SAFARI, is the great festival that Nino Di Costanzo and Pasquale Palamaro have imagined and wanted as a tribute to the best Italian cuisine tradition.
On Monday September 18 at 19.30 at the Negombo Thermal Park in Lacco Ameno will begin the kermesse of the good taste that doubled the number of protagonists, from 50 to 100. A true army of pleasure joining the great chefs passion emerging young people, Chef Pâtissier and capable Neapolitan pizza interpreters, quality craftsmen, ice cream makers and vineyards among the best known in the world.
There are no hierarchies at ISCHIA SAFARI, no podium or brilliant firmament, only a deep bond with the territory and the passion for our traditions. Therefore, the great proposals of the Ischian restaurateurs will challenge the creations of renowned chefs in a playful confrontation with the last papilla. It will be fun to find out that the chefs in the great cuisine of Northern Italy are actually born mostly in Campania, where are born many great Italian cooking interpreters, now enrolled in the great capitals of the world. A true hunting to the ancient flavors and the pleasure to understand how traditions perpetuate and renew in the creations of the protagonists of contemporary cuisine.
For the greediest 13 pastry-makers who will offer the desserts of tradition coming from Capri, Caserta, Salerno, Frattamaggiore, Monte Argentario and Ischia.
Neapolitan pizza-makers could not miss, today famous more than ever, such as Gianfranco Iervolino of the pizzeria Morsi & Rimorsi or mythical Enzo Piccirillo de La Masardona in Naples with its fried pizza or historian Da Michele I Condurro, Giuseppe Pignalosa of Pizzeria La Parulè and Pizzeria di Matteo and Ivano Veccia of Ciccio di Forio. Outside the chefs and pizza-makers in live performances, niche producers with their delicious typical features such as Barlotti with his buffalo mozzarella, Casa Madaio cheeses, Boccia bread cooked in a wood-burning oven, Dallavi hams and Nocillo by Salvatore Avallone and ‘E Curti.
Wide representation of the different territories between the cellars present in a North/South tasting route. Starting from South Tyrol with the Kettmeir Company of the Santa Margherita group, it then goes to Friuli with Lis Neris, to Veneto with Zonin1821, in Franciacorta with Villa Crespia to Piedmonte with Michele Chiarlo. It goes down in Tuscany with Banfi and Marchesi De Frescobaldi, then in the Marche region with Santa Barbara, Umani Ronchi, to go down with La Guardiense and the precious wines of Marisa Cuomo to Sicily with Planeta. However, we must not forget that Ischia is an island of peasantry where the vine has been cultivated for millennia, and the good vineyards of Ischia will be missing from this event: Casa D’Ambra, Cantine Antonio Mazzella, Pietratorcia, Tommasone, Crateca , Cenatiempo, Cantina Colella.
On Tuesday September 19 at 4 pm at the Sala Azzura at la Regina Isabella, Maurizio Filippi from Umbria, the best Sommelier of Italy 2016, will lead an exclusive Classical Classical Masterclass of Trentodoc. Precious sparkling wine from mountain recognizable for fresh acidity due to the altitudes of the crops and the variety of scents that arise for the strong thermal hikes. Only 40 seats available
Also on Tuesday September 19 at 8 pm at the Albergo della Regina Isabella will be held the Charity Gala Dinner, the most anticipated event for the high profile of its protagonists. They will work with Andrea Migliaccio of L'Olivo di Capri, Anthony Genovese of Il Pagliaccio in Rome, Chicco and Bobo Cerea of the restaurant Da Vittorio di Brusaporto, Francesco Sposito of Taverna Estia of Brusciano, Gaetano Trovato of Arnolfo in Colle Val d'Elsa, Giuseppe Iannotti of the Kresei di Telese Terme, Pino Cuttaia of the restaurant La Madia di Licata, Vittorio Fusari of the Pont de Ferr in Milan and Mario Carrabs, of the homonymous macelleria of Gesualdo (AV).
Great protagonists, not least the cause that the Saperi e Sapori Association, created by Nino Di Costanzo and Pasquale Palamaro to organize the event, chose to support with the funds collected from the Gala Dinner. It wants to offer scholarships and courses of specialization for the worthy students of schools and professional institutes who intend to realize themselves in the great world of food and wine. The sum collected last year has gone to the Hotel School of Ischia, which this year will be devolved to the Spoleto Hotel Institute, but the goal is to be able to organize international internships in the great temples of world food. Following up on the events in Ischia, the Association devolves part of the takings to Casamicciola families who are victims of the earthquake.
120 seats available for a Walking Dinner featuring the enthusiasts served by the pool with the pizza of the best pizza-maker in Italy Franco Pepe, the dishes in the Sporting restaurant and the desserts in the enchanting Indaco bay, gourmet restaurant of Regina Isabella. Great pastry makers who will perform in the charming bay, such as Chef Pâtissier Antonino Maresca, Carmine Di Donna of Torre del Saracino restaurants by Gennaro Esposito, Nello Iervolino of Regina Isabella, Emilio Panzardi of gelateria Emilio di Maratea and Fratelli Mancusi of Porto 51.

Defining Ischia as a small enogastronomic district of excellence, expressing all the potential and the rich tradition of Mediterranean cuisine, this in summary the goal of the Saperi and Sapori Association and the project of Nino Di Costanzo and Pasquale Palamaro.

LOCATION OF THE EVENT
NEGOMBO is a hydrothermal park overlooking the bay of San Montano, the most impressive inlet of Ischia. The park is immersed in a green area of over 9 hectares. It is a place of well-being where you can find a very fine beach, fourteen swimming pools between marinas, thermal and therapeutic ones.

THE HOTEL OF REGINA ISABELLA
Situated in the small and charming village of Lacco Ameno, the smallest town on Ischia Island, L'Albergo della Regina Isabella is set by the sea in a quiet bay surrounded by rocks and a lush Mediterranean pine forest. Built by Angelo Rizzoli in the second half of the 1950s, the hotel became over the years place of the international jet set.
